# Leadership Tips

These are the best leadership lessons I've learned from books and leaders I truly admire.

1. Be a leader, not a boss. Being a leader is not just for status. Show them that you’re really grinding.
2. Set a common metric your team should work hard together instead of creating an unhealthy and competitive environment.
3. Your team’s livelihoods depend on you. Make them feel secured all the time.
4. Make your team feel that they are contributing and doing a great job.
5. Give your team 100% trust and it's up to them to maintain it.
6. Build your team to become future leaders and hopefully Silicon Valley quality.
7. Listen to everyone’s needs and wants. There will be a lot of requests and it can be overwhelming but guarantee to implement them 1 by 1.
8. Be the last to speak so you don't influence everyone's ideas.
9. Delegate. If you don’t, you become the bottleneck.
10. Be patient. Not all people think or do the same way. Guide them to do the right way.
11. Don’t overwork your team. They have different priorities eg. family, travel, hobbies, etc. Plus you don’t share the same upside (salary, stock options, and/or token allocation).
12. Be ready when your people are being poached and get offers that are 2X to 3X higher than their current salaries.
