Bohol

Hi there! 👋 I’m @benjtupasarrow-up-right and welcome to another Travel PH82 Guide 🇵🇭arrow-up-right where I write DIY and budget-friendly guides for group and solo travelers on how to visit all 82 provinces of the Philippines!

I visited Bohol three times already:

  • 2015 - with my family

  • 2016 - with Google Developers Group

  • 2022 - with my team at the previous company I co-founded

I'll be sharing how to maximize your stay and navigate Bohol!

Disclaimer: Some pieces might be missing as I no longer have the original itineraries. But all of the activities you need to know are written below.

I'll use this guide on my 4th visit sometime soon. Let's start with the guide!

Here's a 4-day sample itinerary:

Day 1: Island Tour

I tried this tour both in 2016 and 2022.

👉 Book via Klookarrow-up-right (Recommended)

👉 Book via Klookarrow-up-right (By Southwest Tours)

🐬 Dolphin watching

⏰ You have to start the tour at 5 AM in order to catch the dolphins

😆 If you're not a morning person, this is not for you.

📷 Disclaimer: these photos were taken in Manjuyod Sandbar in Dumaguetearrow-up-right but the experience is the same.

I first experienced this in 2016 but I didn't have a GoPro to capture the moment. We also missed the dolphins in our 2022 visit coz we started at 9 AM. Developers are not morning people. 😆

🏝️ Balicasag Island

🤿 Sea turtle watching and fish feeding. Nemo is here.

🥄 Where you can eat lunch

🏝️ Virgin Island

🏝️ A beautiful white sandbar and crystal clear blue water

😆 Where you can eat the most controversial sea urchin.

Context: A group of tourists was charged P26,000. Oysters were priced at P3,000 while the sea urchin was at P2,300. It became viral that ABS CBN, Philippine Star, and Inquirer shared about this.

🚨 Our teammates from Vietnam got hustled too.

Tip: Ask for the price before you buy and pay as soon as you order. But I guess this was addressed by their tourism office already.
