Hi there! 👋 I’m Benj Tupas and welcome to another Travel PH82 Guide 🇵🇭 where I write DIY and budget-friendly guides for group and solo travelers on how to visit all 82 provinces of the Philippines!
For today’s guide, let’s virtually explore Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in the province of Bataan.
One of the best places to experience the history of the Philippines in real life. I'll share some fun facts I've learned from the guides during my stay here as you continue reading.
Allow me to share my 2-day trip to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. Let's start the DIY, solo, and group-friendly travel guide. Buckle up as we will be riding the time machine. 😍
🚌 Option 1: From Pasay (I started here):
From Pasay Rotonda along EDSA (below MRT station) – approx. PHP300+/pax
Take the Genesis Bus to Balanga Bus Station.
🚌 Option 2: From Cubao:
From Cubao along EDSA (below MRT station) – approx. PHP270+/pax
Take the Genesis Bus or Bataan Transit along EDSA Cubao to Balanga Bus Station
Trips from Pasay and Cubao start at 04:00 AM and buses arrive every 30 minutes.
🚌 Continue here (whether you choose Pasay or Cubao, the next 3 steps will be the same)
From Balanga Bus Station station, take the jeepney going to Bagac or Morong
Upon reaching Bagac, get down at the Filipino-Japanese Friendship Tower and go to the tricycle station
Take a tricycle going to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar (Gate 5 entrance)
This came from the official website of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.
I booked a Deluxe Room with a beach view as my temporary home for 2 days. It's a little pricey at P7,500 per night but the view when you wake up will be worth it.
I highly recommend staying overnight. This place becomes even more beautiful at night. See more photos under the "Night Mode" section.
🚌 4-hour commute to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar See the "How to Get There" guide above
🏠 Check-in at 02:00PM - If you arrive early, you can leave your things at the front desk. - You'll receive a text once your room is available. - In the meantime, you can do the Walking Tour.
From the front desk, you will ride a complimentary jeepney to the starting point of the tour.
🧠 Fun fact: Some houses came from other locations in the Philippines, carefully disassembled from their original locations, and reassembled here. 🤯
Some important areas you need to see.
Photo 1 - Where the Heneral Luna movie was shot (both camera and gun 😆) Photo 2 - A hallway that will give you a Game of Thrones vibe. 🧠 Fun fact: This is where you'll experience the CC Silip (silip means peek in Tagalog). CC Silip is a floor peephole or the CCTV of the old times where they would pour urine if they didn’t like the person knocking. 😂 Photo 3 - My favorite spot of the walking tour.
Vehicles of the Past: Kalesa and Wooden Tram
Church
This bridge or walkway is located in the beach area. The sunset here is amazing!
The third photo is located at the back of the beachfront rooms. There's an option to ride the balsa. Just inquire on the official channels above.
This is why I highly recommend staying overnight. This place becomes even more beautiful at night. You can conveniently book a room here. 😍
That’s all for today. Please sleep early so you can catch the sunrise at the beach area.
This is where you'll eat breakfast. They serve a delicious buffet-style breakfast composed of mostly Filipino food. You’ll have a wide range of options.
I actually visited this at night time. It was a weekday with no visitors and no guide at that hour. 👻 It was creepy to roam around alone here but still really beautiful. Please visit this in the morning or afternoon though. 😆
🧠 Fun fact: This is just a replica of Hotel de Oriente. They could no longer retrieve or use the original materials as it was bombed during World War 2 and some materials would not last for the long term.
You can catch the sunrise and explore more houses in the beach area. Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar offers a white sand beach.
However, I decided not to swim. I wanted to maximize seeing all the houses and buildings when I was there.
That's it!
To go home, you can ask the front desk to request a tricycle to the terminal near the Filipino-Japanese Friendship Tower and reverse the rest of the "How to Get There" guide.
